• We investigate how consumers’ incentives to comparison shop within a firm affect price competition in multiproduct oligopolies. A new search model with deadlines and random results is presented. find that firms benefit from offering discount on subset of their products, which amplifies for intrafirm shopping alleviates competition. This set pricing (i) engages consumers comparing products inside stores, decreasing the time left across (ii) enables more refined discrimination.
